Multiple Joint Pain is increasing in frequency in the modern world.
It can also be referred to as Polyarthritis, Polymyalgia Rheumatica, Fibromyalgia, & can even be a symptom of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. The joints & surrounding tissues become painful because of low grade chronic inflammation.
It is increasingly viewed as auto-immune illness, where the body’s defence system becomes disoriented & attacks itself.
Over the years we have consulted countless people with this confusing & variously diagnosed condition. Medical treatment is aimed at alleviating symptoms & as such, has a poor record overall.
Our experience with this condition is generally very positive.
The basic underlying causes of why the inflammation is present have to be addressed.
We do this with a thorough case history & diet & lifestyle appraisal, often with a live blood analysis.
Specific recommendations are then made concerning diet, allergy avoidance, exercise, rest & stress management techniques.
Physical treatment (osteopathy) augments this “internal” approach & in most cases results in a marked reduction of pain (inflammation).
Obviously the longer & more severe the problem, the less quickly & less complete the recovery.
